HERCO work towards creating a just society that respects the dignity and worth of every individual. We conduct awareness campaigns to strengthen access to fundamental rights and human rights and advocate for the public good within the community.
As HERCO can play a vital role in promoting and protecting the human rights of IDPs through various initiatives:
Advocacy and Awareness: Advocate for the rights of IDPs at local, national, and international levels, ensuring their issues are recognized and addressed.
Conduct awareness campaigns to educate IDPs about their rights and how to access support and protection.
Provide legal assistance to help IDPs obtain necessary documentation, such as identity papers, birth certificates, and property deeds. Offer legal counseling and representation to IDPs facing legal challenges or human rights violations.
Protection from Violence and Exploitation: Establish safe spaces and shelters for vulnerable groups, including women and children, to protect them from gender-based violence and exploitation.
Train staff and community members to recognize and respond to signs of abuse and human rights violations.
Access to Services: Ensure that IDPs have equal access to essential services such as healthcare, education, clean water, and sanitation. Collaborate with local authorities and service providers to remove barriers to access and ensure inclusivity.
Psychosocial Support: Offer mental health and psychosocial support services to help IDPs cope with trauma, stress, and displacement-related challenges. Implement community-based support programs that engage IDPs in activities promoting mental well-being and social cohesion.
Economic Empowerment: Develop livelihood programs that provide skills training, job opportunities, and financial support to help IDPs become economically self-sufficient. Support income-generating activities and small businesses within IDP communities.
